I’m Russ Crowe, MFTC

Let’s reconnect you to what matters most.

I’m Russ Crowe, MFTC, a relationship therapist specializing in interpersonal challenges for both couples and individuals.

I work with high-functioning adults who want to create meaningful and safe relationships. They want to truly understand what it means to be in a healthy relationship with their partner, their family, and themselves.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME

Hey there, I’m Russ. Before becoming a therapist, I spent 12 years working in high stakes consulting and Silicon Valley tech. I had a wide experience in the business world dealing with Fortune 100 executive clients and putting out constant fires… all while trying to balance career, marriage, and family.

I know firsthand how demanding life can be and how easy it is to lose sight of connection in the midst of it all.

Maintaining and deepening our most important relationships can lead to so much goodness. But as you know, good relationships don’t come easy.

The pressures of managing career stress, difficult relationships, and your own internal conflicts takes its toll on our health and wellbeing. Relationships are tough. They’re complex. They’re messy.

But I like guiding people through that mess. That’s my thing. I help people foster healing and growth in the midst of their challenging relationships. I’ve shifted my craft from business strategy to relationship strategy, applying the some of the same approaches used in high-stakes consulting to the complex patterns of modern marriage.

I spend my time thinking about my clients, how to untangle knots, learning about new relationship theories and tools.

I’ll custom tailor our sessions to your specific needs. You can have confidence that our work will be grounded in attachment theory, relational neuroscience, and family of origin legacy while taking into account your unique biology, psychology, and social system.

I am directive, not passive, and I love collaborating with my clients to hit their goals. You can expect highly involved and honest interactions with me, where I’ll teach you frameworks, theories, tools, and most importantly help process emotions in a safe and productive way.

Therapy is one of the few places where we can pause, reflect, and peel back the layers of what’s really going on. To hear clients grow to say about their relationships: “I am known, I am safe, I belong.” Those are good days for everyone in the room.

I don’t believe you’re here because you’re "broken." I believe you’re here because the strategies you’ve used to protect yourself and your relationships are no longer working.

My approach is active, focused, and deeply relational. While I provide a warm space to uncover what’s happening, I am not a passive observer. Using the gold standards of relationship science including Gottman Method and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), we won’t just talk about your problems. We will map the underlying patterns that keep you stuck, map the way out, and then walk down that path together. And using Relational Life Therapy (RLT), I help partners take radical accountability to move beyond passive venting into active restructuring.

Working with me feels like a blend of deep insight and practical momentum. You’ll get a lot of strategies, tactics, tools, and frameworks to help you get unstuck. But that’s just the start.

You’ll use your new learnings to process the core attachment wounds and that drive your current reactivity. Working with me is a masterclass in relationship tools and an intensive experience putting those tools into action. But don’t worry, we’ll go at a pace that you’re comfortable with and able to do. While actively building new skills and processing long standing issues, we will move you towards hitting your therapy goals.

HOW I WORK

We are a good fit if …

-You’re ready to commit to your personal growth and goals

-You want a direct but warm therapist to challenge and encourage you

-You’re ready to learn and practice new skills to enable your goals

-You’re able to look “under the hood” to see why certain problems exist

-You’re able to take accountability

-You have a good sense of humor

-You’re looking for a place to take off the mask and be authentic

We are not a good fit if …

-You’re not open to reflection, exploration, or receiving honest feedback

-You don’t want to “do the work” outside of session

-You’re looking for a passive therapist

-You want someone to nod and agree with your opinion each session

-You’re not ready to be honest and accountable for your part in a relationship

-You are working through: newly discovered sexual infidelity in the last few months, ongoing infidelity, active addiction, domestic violence, or may have an undiagnosed personality or mood disorder (ie bipolar/schizophrenia/psychosis)

Therapy with me is -

  • Many of the methods and theories I use are backed by thousands of hours of clinical research, live research labs with physiological feedback loops, and peer-reviewed academic journals. These include Gottman Method, EFT, and EMDR.

  • I work to stitch your patterns and narratives together to see themes and trends that are driving your life. I’m looking at the overall system, the relationship itself, and the big picture.

  • My style of therapy is built on gently addressing the elephant in the room. You deserve a therapist who will be honest with you and tell you what you’re doing great and where there’s opportunity for growth.

  • Research shows the most important factor in effective therapy is the alliance between clients and the therapist. It has to be a good match. I bring my natural personality into sessions so expect some witty jokes, deep conversations, curiosity, and sincere compassion.

My Background & Training

Professional & Clinical Experience

My professional experience goes back 12 years working as a strategy consultant for Fortune 100s and Silicon Valley. It helped shape my worldview and how I conceptualize cases.

I received my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Regis University in Denver, Colorado where I graduated with a 4.0 GPA and was in Phi Kappa Honors.

As a MFTC, my clinical background has provided me with a comprehensive skillset in conceptualizing relationship issues within the context of family systems theory. I specialize in working with high achieving couples facing relational dysfunction.

Currently, I am pursuing certification in Relational Life Therapy, a cutting-edge way of helping couples take radical accountability towards their relational goals.

In addition to my own practice Blueprint Relationship Therapy, I currently serve as a clinician at Colorado Relationship Recovery, where I collaborate with a team of specialists for the Denver Metro area.
